Crossing the Border

A few weeks ago, I went to El Paso with some friends. We were taking one friend, who works in Juarez back there after holidays spent in Chihuahua. We spent some time hanging out in El Paso and did some fun stuff together. We had to wait quite a while in line to cross the border, and amused ourselves with catching glimpses of lives of those on the border.
Mexicans are quite ingenious. There you have hundreds of cars trapped in traffic and they have to all pass the same way, so why not sell them stuff! And you can buy just about anything there in line waiting to cross the bridge.

A little girl watches her families ceramic stuff for sale. Lawn ornaments to idols.
Need a drink? Or maybe a candy bar? Here you have a mobile vending machine.
Maybe you're more healthy - here's some nuts, mangos, other fruit. Just honk or wave, and they deliver!
Are you suffering from High Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Osteoporosis, Obesity, Circulation Problems, Artheritis, Reumatism, or WHATEVER.... for only 2$ or 20p (20p is a better deal!) you can have the cure: Japanese Garlic!!
This lady isn't selling anything, she's just hoping that with all those people, there are some there that will pity her and give her a few pesos. As you creep up the Mexican side of the bridge, the vendors get fewer and fewer, but there are still a few persistent ones. There was a guy dusting cars under the watch of the Mexican eagle.
Ah, finally, we're getting close to the United States. The glorious Stars & Stripes. As soon as we crossed the top of the bridge over the border, there was only lines of cars. No colorful people selling all manner of stuff. Just plain boring lines!

Te diste cuenta de que habian motocicletas de migracion evitando que los vendedores cruzaran la frontera?
